There is no signal in Cubase/Cubasis when Creative ASIO drivers are selected

No Signal in Cubase/Cubasis when Audigy ASIO Drivers are Selected

If you have selected the Creative ASIO, Sound Blaster Audigy ASIO or Sound Blaster Audigy ASIO 24/96 and there is no signal going into Cubasis, yet the ASIO DirectX and the ASIO Multimedia Driver works. This is because the correct VST inputs has not been selected when trying to use the ASIO drivers.

When the ASIO DirectX and the ASIO Multimedia Driver is selected the only inputs available in the VST inputs are IN 1 L/ IN 1 R: this means that the only input available is already selected and therefore there is a signal in Cubasis.

Panels - VST Inputs

When the Creative ASIO or the Sound Blaster Audigy ASIO drivers are selected, there are 10 inputs available in the VST inputs (Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro). If you are plugging in a microphone you will need to activate IN 9 L/IN 9 R.

When one of the ASIO drivers is selected the VST inputs change.

When the Sound Blaster Audigy ASIO 24/96 Driver is selected there are 3 pair of inputs available in the VST inputs (Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro).

Once the correct input has been chosen in the VST Inputs, you will need to go to the Arrange window in Cubasis and select the correct input there.

Note - If you are recording from a Mono source (such as a Microphone or an Electrical Guitar), the input signal will only be recorded on the left channel in Cubase/Cubasis.

On the left side of the Arrange window, there is an input button (IN 1 L). Click it, and depending on whether you have Mono or Stereo selected, you will see the corresponding input channels which you have already selected previously in VST Inputs. Select the input channel you are going to use and you will now be able to record from that input on the soundcard.
